6 Steps to Overcome low Self Esteem and Negative Attitude

There are a lot of different aspects of your inner character that determine your success, but the greatest of these is self-motivation.  The ability to drive yourself and never give up as you push towards your goals is one that all truly successful people possess.

With the distractions of modern day life and the fast pace we all live in, managing your motivation is challenging.  Pushing through self-doubt, apathy, exhaustion, and the countless other negative mental landmines that lay before you can cause some to quickly adopt a, “Why bother?” attitude.
How do you clear your head of all this negativity? How do you push yourself when so many elements around you are encouraging you to quit? The following 6 steps can banish the negative attitudes and assure you accomplish everything you set your mind to.

Make certain you have a Clearly Defined Goal

There is little point to being self-motivated if you have nothing to work towards.  Be sure to make the goal realistic. Be sure you have a timeline in place for achieving it. Most importantly, do not let a single day go by without reminding yourself about what it is you intend to achieve.  Keeping your goals in sight at all times is one of the greatest motivators in the world.

Break your Goal Down into Simple steps

Every time you achieve one of these steps, it will add to your motivation to get to the proverbial finish line.  This makes the goal seem more attainable and helps you to mark your progress on the road to success.  If your goal is to run a marathon, start with a 5 mile run in 45 minutes.  Once you’ve achieved that, alter the distance and time to make it harder.  As each step is accomplished you will feel more motivated for the next step.

Don’t let Arrogance make you Unrealistic.

Pride can be a good thing.  If you combine self-awareness with pride it can give you the self-esteem needed to do great things.  But if you have an overblown sense of pride it can lead to becoming easily frustrated when you don’t get what you want quickly enough.  Nothing kills motivation faster than not getting something that you feel entitled to.  Decide right now that you’re not entitled to anything and that everything you get in life is going to be the result of hard work and you will find your motivation will increase exponentially.

Live in the Moment

Yes, looking forward to a goal can motivate you, but live in the here and now.  Accept your circumstances for what they are and be determined to change them for the better.  Don’t let errors in the past or dreams for the future occupy your time.  Instead, occupy your time with actions that increase your confidence and motivation. Trying to get the promotion at work?  Don’t daydream about how great the job will be.  Do all the networking and hard work that you need to do in order to land that job.

Don’t forget to Enjoy

Morale is perhaps the most important element in self-motivation.  Staying positive can help you deal with setbacks.  It can also give you that little extra push of energy that you need to break through the mental barriers that are holding you back.    Stress and laziness are the two greatest inner obstacles to accomplishing your goals.  Keeping a positive attitude is the best way to smash through these obstacles.

Value Momentum

Once you start, becoming self-motivated is like a train hurtling down a track.  As long as your path is clear and you are determined to not stop, you will get to where you are going very quickly.  So, don’t spend three weeks working and decide to blow off the next three days.  Keep focused.  Keep working.  Keep moving forward.  Your goal is not coming to you.  You are moving towards your goal.

From Editors Desk

Self-motivation is not an easy thing to accomplish.  It requires focus, work, determination, planning and a healthy dose of realism.  But the fact that self-motivation is difficult and that many people have a short supply of it is the best reason to develop it.  Because once you’ve learned to be self-motivated, you can push yourself to accomplish anything.

Interview with Syed Faizan Ali - A Young Entrepreneur

Today, I'm very excited to Interview one of the youngest and successful bloggers of Pakistan Syed Faizan Ali. I think his name needs no introduction but let me give you short introduction about him and his personality.
Syed Faizan Ali is a young entrepreneur from Pakistan and is known for his websites MBL (mybloggerlab.com) and the only Templateism. MyBloggerLab is his first website which is now one of the best blogger resource blogs. After the success of MBL, Faizan launched his 2nd project Templateism which is the No. 1 platform for Blogger templates with thousands of monthly downloads and millions of visitors. Well, when I sent him a mail, I wasn't expecting a quick reply. As he is busy person but I received a quick response and he agreed for the interview.  So let's see, how he answered my questions:

1. Welcome to Blogolect, I think your Name is enough and no introduction is required but as a part of formality tell us a little about yourself?

First of all thanks for finding me worth to be interviewed on your wonderful blog. I am Syed Faizan Ali, a Pakistan Web Entrepreneur and currently pursuing my computer engineering bachelor degree. I have founded two of the most popular blogger niche website i.e. MyBloggerLab.com and Templateism.com

2. How you started blogging and what was the reason behind it?

I wasn’t a great student being mocked by family members that I would either be a vegetable vendor or a local clerk. However, I was really good with computers, playing games was my best hobby. I took all those bad things as a motivation and fortunately end up starting blogging which resulted very well for me.

3. How much time do you spend daily on blogging, how much you spent in the early days and how much you are spending now?

I use to spend almost 18-20 hours on blogging at initial stages. However, nowadays I am a lot busy with my university and personal life. Therefore, I didn’t give much of the time to blogs. However, I still give around 8-10 hours to internet, blogging and web developing.

4. Faizan, now you're a successful entrepreneur, tell us a a little about the sources which helped you in achieving your goals?

People help you a lot, it could be your friends who you shared your happiness with, it could also be your enemies who always keep you on your toes to achieve more.

5. Templateism :) Templateism is going viral day by day and obviously its all due to your hardwork. I want to ask you a general question that how much time it took to become a professional designer/developer and what were the sources which helped you?

I wonder why I didn’t started Templateism.com at very first. But I did, which was a great thing happened to blogger.com. You just need to learn HTML and CSS to get started with developing a blogger template.

I would tell you a secret, try editing your existing blogger template. You will find wonderful codes, learn them and utilize them in your own template. Simple, Right?

6. I hardly found a few template designers from Pakistan, what do you think what's the reason behind it? It really hurts, but I am saying this after my observance, Pakistan is far away from other countries in the field of blogging. So what do you think which steps should we take to create a sense in Pakistanis that blogging is a profitable business and is better than jobs.

You see there are a lot of Pakistani designers but the difference is that they are not good at it. They focus on too many things rather than mastering one thing. I think government should develop a proper IT Institution that teaches people not only standard education but also teaches them “To Blog”, “To Earn” and “To Develop”.

7. Which are the Primary Sources of your Income?

Our primary source of income is Ads Slot selling, Selling Templates and doing custom projects for our clients.

8. How do you prepare your speech for seminars and how much time it takes?

So Far I have came into public 2 times, my first ever seminar on blogging was at Karachi University in 2013. The next seminar that I took was at IBA CED (IBA Center of Entrepreneurship Development) in Karachi in 2014. I recently did an online webinar for Google Student Ambassadors, it went really smooth. The only reason why I am able to give such seminars and presentation is becomes of the motivation audience give me back when I speak.

9. What was the key factors behind the success of MBL?

The factor was pretty simple, “Write Quality Content” and wait for the right time to monetize. If you know I waited 6 months to place any kind of advertisement on MBL. That’s the key.

10. What are your future plans?

Future plans is to expand Templateism Network and to take it to the very next level, In Sha ALLAH.

11. Competition is increasing day by day, so what you think that starting a blog in today's date is a profitable business?

Competition is getting tough but the people are getting intelligent as well. They will certainly find a way to reach their goal. You just need to be motivated.

12.  I have seen that all newbies pay more attention to their alexa ranking than their blog? What do you think about alexa, is it still matters?

Alexa ranking doesn’t matters a lot. Yes, It is a nice way to flaunt your website ranking but it has not a lot of worth so don’t worry about it and focus on your blog and how much you earn.

13. As a Student how do you manage you blogs and how you managed then in the start of your career?

As a student still, it is really hard to manage both. You either sacrifice your education or work. However, if you are motivated and determined in your goals you will overcome this issue as well.

15. What do you think about taking risks in blogging, like paying on advertisements and all this type of stuff?

Blogging is a risk, you put your everything on a blog and if you don’t get desire result all hardwork goes in vain. However, without taking risk you cannot do anything. Overcome your FEAR, when you put water in a Cup it becomes a Cup and when you put water in a jar it becomes a jar. Be water my friend.

16. Would you like to give any message to bloggers who are just starting their career?

First of all, new bloggers really need to learn to at least give some sorts of respect to the senior bloggers. Sometime novice bloggers shows extra aggression and that literally spoils everything. They should focus more towards their blog instead of looking what others are doing. The most important thing, a new blogger should always start a blog on a topic that he feels he can cover the best. Many people have started a website on totally unrelated topics that didn’t work out. Find your abilities and make them count.

17. What do you think about Blogolect?

Zohaib, you got a really nice blog. I would just like to tell you focus on doing whatever you are doing and don’t listen to anyone. Follow your dreams and In Sha Allah You will taste success someday.

Hope you guys enjoyed it and hope it motivated you to stick to your goals. Liked it, let us know in the comments section below.

How to Become a Successful Blogger

Owning a blog is not just a fad that has arisen as a result of the growth of the internet Blogs are becoming increasingly important as online communication tools for both individuals and corporate organizations.
A successful blog could mean a regular source of passive income for the owner and this is one thing that attracts people to it. However, there are certain important elements that should be considered before deciding to start a blog:

Traffic

There are different reasons why people blog: Some blog just to share information while others blog to make money through affiliate marketing, advertising and so on. However whatever your objective or purpose for blogging, it wouldn’t have any impact if nobody is reading.

Part of your planning for your blog must include how you intend to drive traffic. This can be achieved through the use of social media, Pay per Click (PPC) advertising, guest blogging and so on.

Another factor worth considering when thinking about getting traffic is making use of SEO friendly keywords to increase your search engine rating.

Good Content

You must provide your readers with good and useful content. Content is King and is a major determinant of whether your blog will be successful or not. Before you begin blogging, try and ensure that you have your content generation sorted out so you don’t get stuck along the way.
You should also strive to be original. Although it’s okay to blog about a trending story or pick your content from another source, but it is important that you add your own voice or view to the story. Don’t just do a copy and paste job and leave it at that.

Passion

Like every other thing in life, you must be passionate about what you blog about for you to become successful. Passion for what you do is what keeps you going even in the face of difficulties and like they say, Passion Persuades.

Consistency

For you to be able to generate and sustain the interest of readers to your blog, you must be consistent in updating your blog content regularly. This is even more important if your goal is to make money from blogging.

Your Niche

Except you are a public figure with a large following who can blog on whatever he fancies, you blog must focus on a particular niche.

Ask yourself, what problem do I want to solve for people? Or what need do I want to meet? This will help you to stay focused and increase your relevance. Work towards becoming an authority in your chosen niche.

Write for Your Audience

Blogging is not academic writing. Understand your audience and write in an interesting and engaging manner. Your purpose is to sustain their interest and keep them coming back. You should therefore try to be as informal and straightforward as possible. One trick to this is to write like you were facing them and talking to them. Use words and phrases that would grab their attention.

Interact

The ever increasing social media space is one huge traffic source. It would be a nice idea to have a fan page on Facebook for your blog and also a Twitter account. Work on increasing your fan base on social media platforms and post regularly.

Don’t ignore comments from your readers on your blog or other platforms. Address their questions and comments as promptly as you can. Interacting and sharing with your guests will build loyalty and trust.

13 Ways to Make Your Title Catchy + a List of Power Words

Why do you have to create a catchy title and why the title is so important? Imagine yourself a fisherman. Any copywriter will tell you that if you want to hook your reader you should think about a good bait. Everything is simple – your title is your bait and your today's supper depends on it. The truth is cruel - there is no set formula for creating a catchy title because if there was then everybody would do it, right? You have to know your audience primarily, and then know what makes a catchy title before you can make one. Here are the ingredients for a catchy title and a few power words you can splice in to give it some oomph. Happy fishing!

1- Deep researchers do not like catchy

You have to match your title to your target audience. You have to make sure that the people you are trying to attract are going to find your title catchy. People that are doing deep research are going to be put off by a typically catchy title. They are going to want descriptive and accurate titles.

2- Skim researchers want catchy and want numbers

The people that are quickly searching for a bit of trivia or a quick answer to a question are going to love catchy titles. They want a title that tickles their interest and that gives an indication it may answer their question. They do not mind a title that is a little more general and a little less concise.

3- Be descriptive and let people know what to expect

The key to getting more clicks is to be more descriptive. There is a trend at the moment where people feel they have to put numbers in their titles or feel that they have to give a vague reference to a payoff in order to get clicks, but people are sick of them and are usually very unresponsive to them. If you are descriptive, then you may scare away some people, but they are the people that are not interested in your products, services, website, network or you. The people that do click are the ones that are more likely to engage with your content.

4- Stir the imagination without leading people on

Do not be vague, but do allow people to ponder on your title before they click the link to your page. You can say that a woman awoke from her coma after two years, or you can say that a woman awakes from her coma and finally becomes lucid. This stirs the imagination and makes the reader wonder what she was like before she became lucid.

5- Pick a selling point and play it in the title

Your selling point is the main use of your article or post. If you are writing a descriptive that, as you should, then playing on your selling point is a great idea. For example, if your article is a picture post on broken-glass structures, then that is what you would write within the title (to be descriptive), but you can play on your selling point by add something such as, “that you have never seen before.” Adding that selling point is honest and descriptive, whilst also plays on the selling point that your pictures haven’t been seen before.

6- Stay away from enticing but non-descriptive titles

There are hundreds of thousands (probably millions) of these all over the Internet and they are annoying. They say things such as, “This 53 year old woman has the skin of a 20yr old” or “Nobody thought this would work,” or “Even a kid can make money doing this.” It is true that young, gullible, and easy-to-impress people are going to click links with these sorts of titles, but most people will not.

7- Link it to trends

Do not misunderstand this tip. This doesn’t mean hop on the trend people have set up where they have to have odd numbers in their titles, or the trend of vague but enticing titles. It msn hop on the trends that will elevate the impact of your title when people read it. For example, the trailer to Fast & Furious 7 was all over YouTube. In the 5 seconds before the advert may be clicked off, the trailer says, “I live my life at a quarter of a mile at a time.” People that had similar (albeit funny parodies) lines in their titles did very well around this time. For example, movie reviews said, “I watched this movie a quarter of a yawn per minute.”

8- Make it rhyme if you want people to repeat it

If you want people to quote your title, then make it rhyme. For some reason, people are more willing to remember and repeat article titles that rhyme.

9- Stop listening to trends

The Internet is full of articles saying you should have a number in your title if you want people to visit your website and read your article, but the fact is that people do not care. It is one of those occasions where the market has led the metric. The consumers do not click more titles with numbers in because they like them, they click them before more have sprung up than ever before. Do not listen to trends. Only use them opportunistically whenever you think it will benefit or impress your target audience.

10- Try to excite people more than you try to scare them

Trying to scare people with dramatic lines and scary fact will just bore people. People in the USA hear such things on the news so often that they are sick of fear. They already live in perpetual fear and will therefore not seek it out. People in Canada do not lock their doors, and people on the TV talk about conversations to resolve conflicts. People in the USA hear something terrifying every time they switch on the TV or a streaming device, so they will veer away from scary posts that threaten their lives or their happiness.

11- Don’t use over-used words

There are a lot of overused words--too many to post here. Nevertheless, try your best to avoid some of the most overused words in the article and blogging world. Here are a few examples of words that are overused in article titles.

Principles

Reasons

Facts

Tricks

Ways

Ideas

Lessons

Secrets

12- Don’t be afraid of being creative

The key to being creative and successful is to measure your results. Be creative by all means, but every time you are, you have to measure the results. Your creativity may open up a whole new paradigm in title creation, or it may start the next trend. The only way you are going to see a genuine benefit from experimenting and being creative is to measure your results and learn from them. Pay close attention to your analytics and measure your click-through rates.

13- Use power words if you want to make an impact

Remember that power words and phrases are only powerful for a limited amount of time and are guided by trends. For example, the term, “Coursing through my veins” used to be powerful, but is now cliché, pretentious and annoying. The same thing can happen with power words, especially if you overuse them, so pick and choose them carefully. Here is a list of currently popular power words. Click here to download the list.
