Why you Should not Give Up Blogging

The internet has come a long way since the first days when you had a few websites to browse and chat services to talk to people in other parts of the world. Now there are actually hundreds of thousands of people who are making full time income and creating large amount of wealth by using the internet to conduct business. There is no doubt that anyone can start to make some great money online as long as they know what they are doing. The problem is that with this “gold rush” there are tons of people who are trying their luck at internet marketing.
Why you Should not Give Up Blogging

The Competition is Fierce

There are many people who claim that they can get you on the first page of Google by creating backlinks or optimizing your website content, but this is not going to have any serious impact in your ranking. There are way too many active websites that are also getting hundreds of high quality backlinks made for their websites and they are paying highly professional web designers and marketers to optimize their websites, but there is only a handful of spaces available on the first page results and a huge number of people trying got get there.

The Only True Method

There is only one way to truly be able to grow in the competitive world of today. That way is called content marketing and what means is that you need to produce high quality blog posts that are actually useful to people. The modern buyers expect to get something in return for choosing you as the provider of products and services they need. The best way to make them feel that you have earned their investment is to provide high quality free content that they can use.
There is a whole new phenomenon called inbound marketing and what this means is that you create content that encourages people to purchase your products or services without directly selling them. You provide people with quality information and they will be more likely to trust your brand and become your customers.

Consistency is a Key Factor

When you consider the high number of websites and blogs that are competing to get a good position in Google, you need to make sure that you are able to be consistent and produce as any blog posts with quality content as you can on a weekly basis. Remember that your competitors are not resting and some of them are also producing quality content every day.

Quality over Quantity

A Golden rule of proper blogging methods is to never sacrifice quality just to have quantity. If you feel that one day you are not able to produce a good quality blog post, you need to avoid posting it. A single post that is not useful is going to ruin your reputation with your audience. Always consider this to be a Golden rule for your business. When you posts something that is not of the same quality as your usual posts, this could cost you a lot of followers and you don’t want to make that sacrifice.

Conclusion

If you want to be able to make the most out of your online efforts, you need to be consistent with the blog posts, but the quality has to be the main priority. When you create great and useful content, people are more likely to share it with others and this is going to give you that boost that you need in order to succeed. Quality blogging is the ultimate method to gain popularity and climb the search result ranks in the modern world.

Five Reasons Live Chat Is a Cash Factory

Sometimes the connection between an action and a result can be foggy.

Businesses often make investments in new tech and software-based more on hope than a real understanding of the benefits. Right now, business models are adopting live chat to increase customer satisfaction and income.
Yet, the reasons the best live chat software works so well can be unclear.

Here are five ways live chat turns customer service into a money production line.

Fast Response

In the e-commerce world, patience is for losers. Customers want their answers, and they want them now!
Live chat delivers in record time. It seems like we’ve all been on hold with customer service for a half hour or waited a day for an emailed answer.
Then comes live chat with its average response time of just 23 seconds!
And it doesn’t stop there. Most chat conversations are just 6-12 minutes long.

Customer Preferences

We all want to make our customers happy, right?
Then we should all focus on live chat. 79% of customers say they want live chat because it is immediate and that it solves problems faster than all other options.
Furthermore, among voice, forums, email, Facebook, and Twitter, live chat comes out on top of the customer satisfaction mountain with a 92% approval rating.
In addition, live chat may be immediate, but it is not urgent. Over half of customers prefer it because it allows them to multitask. Over 20% of consumers even say it allows them to shop while at work.

Software Help

Online businesses can excuse themselves from live chat no longer. Today, a wide variety of chat-enabling software options are available. LivePerson and JivoSite have over 300,000 subscriptions each. LiveChat, Olark, and Intercom are all hot on their heels with over 150,000 subscriptions each.

Optional packages give businesses the power to acquire customer information, proactively offer assistance – even see what the customer is writing before the message is sent.

Conversion Rates

Great service sells. Live chat is a proven winner when it comes to conversion.

Over half of customers state they are more likely to buy when they use live chat. In addition, 29% say they are more likely to purchase items when live chat is offered proactively, even if they don’t use it.

Overall, those who take advantage of live chat convert three to five times as often as an average customer. That success also transfers to business-to-business commerce, where chat boosts conversions by over 20%.

Return of Investment

The numbers are certainly impressive, but is live chat worth the investment of time and money?

Studies demonstrate it is. The return on investment from typical live chat software hovers around 300%.

It’s easy to see why. Chat costs 400% less than phone support. And it reduces call volumes by a reported 40%. Additionally, the average chat employee can do the work of 15 email support reps.

Also, live chat grows order sizes. Carts increase 10% for customers who utilize live chat. The average chatting visitor brings four-and-a-half times the value of a non-chatter.

Live chat is boosting the revenues of businesses across the spectrum.

Why not put this cash factory to work for you?

Blogging Is More Than Just Writing Blog Posts

To many of us, blog writing seems as easy as it could be. True, it doesn’t take much to become a blogger these days - there are plenty of tutorials, tips, and resources to anyone, who wants to try themselves at writing. Sure, you can still pay for hosting and for blog’s design - but you can also use free resources if you aren’t ready to invest.
https://cdn.pixabay.com/photo/2015/01/14/18/41/home-office-599475_960_720.jpg
However, while getting started is indeed very easy, succeeding is not. There are plenty of bloggers who do make money with the help of their blogs - but many of them don’t make more than $100 a month. Doesn’t look very impressive, does it?

What makes a blogger successful?

So what makes a blogger successful? Is it the amount of time they invest in the process? Is it their strategy? Or is it their passion?

Often it depends on the type of blog they write for. Sure, having a personal blog and running a corporate one are two different things - and in the second case, your chances of succeeding are higher. When you write for a company, you don’t work on your own - instead you have a whole crew of people assisting you, telling you what to write, what to do to make your posts better, etc.

Corporate blogging is a real deal. But what to do when you run your own blog?

I would advice one thing: forget about monetizing it in the first place.

This might seem absurd. However, I’m not telling you to abandon all your hopes to earn money with the help of your blog someday. What I advice you is to get these thoughts out of your head when you start.

The thing is there are plenty of bloggers who create blogs with only one purpose - to monetize them one day. This doesn’t necessarily know what exactly do they have to do in order to achieve that - yet they work for it (only for it), write non-stop, check the metrics all the time, and become more and more frustrated in the process.

They don’t have fun, don’t enjoy this process - and that’s what they should be doing in the first place.

Passion is the key

Let’s assume you’re passionate about something, be it students’ life, makeup, design, etc. You probably know a lot about the topic and probably enjoy learning even more about it. And you might want to start a blog dedicated to your subject of passion and start writing about the best topics for a proposal essay, for example. Most likely you won’t do it in a boring way - instead, you’ll share some personal stories, try to add some humor or style to your writing.

And while you might still hope to monetize your blog someday, this won’t be the only thing motivating you. This won’t affect your writing as well and won’t dim your passion about the subject.

When it comes to blogging, good content is what the readers are looking for. When you only want to make money, you might write a lot of blog posts - but you’ll also need to focus on so many other things, from promotion to metrics.

When you’re writing because of passion, your posts are your top priority. You put your time, your knowledge, and your passion into them, trying to make them as good as possible. You also look for the ways to make your blog even better, to increase your knowledge about the subject, etc. Moreover, you actually enjoy this. And such things always show in the writing.

So if you do want to become a good blogger, don’t simply write blog posts - find something you love and try to share this love with the others with the help of your writing. I wish you good luck with that!

From College Student to Corporate CEO

The student is a person with big ambitions, great aims, and an unbelievable will to study. He is determined to achieve set goals and knows perfectly how to do it. College period gives the hints on how to talk with people. It is important to know how to work with people and influence them with your own ideas. It is a good basis for future growing and high time to decide what you want to do with your life after school. You have numerous options but are you ambitious enough to think about becoming a CEO?

What is the CEO? He or she is practically the main person in any organization. CEO leads the team and has information about everything to be conducted around. The duty is not that easy but the successful business demands many contributions. One of them is being hard working. You need to understand what kind of business you want to be in charge of. It might be difficult to decide right away but you have a lot of time on your hands while studying. Even more so, you have possibilities to try and fail and try again as you have nothing to lose.

1. To begin with, search for the industries, which you think to be perfect for your own business. Read as much information as the resources allow. Read at first the general articles; those recommended by Forbes. Take time to investigate various industries and explore the best options suitable for you. Do a list of pros and cons, whenever you have a difficult time in choosing among industries.

2. Try to talk to CEOs from fields you are interested in. The more experienced they are the better it is for you. They may be slightly arrogant, especially in big companies. However, more often than not, successful people are eager to share their knowledge and help you to build your fortune. Especially, if you are bright, talented and hardworking. Start from small companies. They can be interested in the perspective and look forward to working with students. What may support you is the net resource LinkedIn. Use it as a map to look for the opportunities.

3. Build a wide network of connections. To do so, you will have to make the acquaintances with people, who have a wide range of contacts. Where to find them? – The ideal places would be educational seminars and various lectures. These connections can quite helpful for your future career.

4. Do not consider your 4-years studying to be a vacation. It is the time to spend with usefulness. You have wonderful chances, beginning with theoretical knowledge to be gained throughout the college years. One financial analytic once mentioned: “It has been a focus for colleges to really get behind their entrepreneurs”. Does not it sound great? Mark other people’s mistakes in your own practical knowledge luggage. You will be able to use it for not only the future career but also your personal life.

5. Finally, some students choose another way. They find it more comfortable to get a job in the desired company and then make career step-by-step. Even a small amount of work to be done in perspective is a real way out. The internship is a good choice. You can see how a corporate machine works from various perspectives. Only then, you can have a fully informed decision whether this business will suit you the best.

To make a long story short, probably you were not an excellent student in college. Maybe your grades are not perfect and once you have even said: “Write an essay for me”. Being a CEO is a challenging work – it is hard and demanding, and it takes up a significant part of your life. However, if you are a responsible person with a highly developed logic and good practical qualities, you will achieve the success you deserve. Believe in yourself and make the world go round the way you need it.

Questions to Ask and also Avoid During First Interview

Multiple factors determine the development of your career, but some of them may become a moving or a ruining power for getting a job offer. We encounter these factors during the interview that is perhaps the most important part of the process of job searching. You may notice that all the interviews have a common pattern. First, you tell about yourself, then an interviewer asks some questions, you answer them, and then you ask your questions. It is highly important to understand how to ask questions properly and how to answer them to create a proper impression and present yourself as a specialist.
In this article, we are going to analyze how to ask questions during the interview and what to avoid. This information will be useful for those who have no experience in visiting interviews and are currently preparing for their first interview.

What questions to avoid!

First, let us talk about the questions that you should avoid during your first interview.

What is the field of your company?

This is the question which automatically ruins the impression that you’ve already created. Currently, the number of candidates is always bigger than the number of job offers, and a candidate should use every opportunity to demonstrate that they are really interested in this job. Before the interview, you need to find all information about the company. Nowadays, it is easy to do it as this information is available online.

Should I work all day long?

If you want to work part time, you should find vacancies with such description. If you are looking for a full-time job, it means that you really need to work all day long. If you ask such a question, your interviewer will think that you are too lazy and that you are not ready to work 40 hours per week. No one wants to hire lazy candidates, so you’d better avoid such questions even though you may want to have some free time to make your term paper better.

Will I receive some bonuses for my work?

This is a good question for the experienced candidates who know how they can improve the work of the company and what exactly they can bring to the table with their skills. Inexperienced candidates who have no competence and understanding of the field should never ask about the bonuses. The bonuses are paid for good work or for some achievements. If you demonstrate yourself as a specialist with good prospects, the company will offer you some bonuses by itself. You may ask about the development of your skill which actually presupposes the rise of your salary, but such question sounds in a proper way.

What questions to ask!

Now, let us talk about three main questions that you are to ask during the interview.

How the workflow of the team is organized?

By asking this question, you demonstrate the employer that you understand that you will work in a team and that you want to become a part of it. Besides, this creates an impression that you have already worked in teams and know that understanding of the processes that each team member is involved in is a key to success. Also, in such a way you demonstrate your leadership and the ability to take the teamwork under control, especially if there is no established workflow for the team that you are going to join.

What will be my first tasks for the first month or two?

This is the most important question that you need to ask even if you have no questions at all. First of all, you will understand what exactly you need to work on to demonstrate your best qualities during the first months of working. Secondly, you will show the employer that you are really interested in the job itself and want to understand what exactly you will do at your workplace.

Will I have a mentor?

Inexperienced employees frequently do not know what to do at their first job. They do not even understand how to behave with the colleagues! When you ask whether you will get a mentor, you demonstrate to your employer that you really want to become a team member as soon as possible and overcome all the problems within the shortest time. Besides, it will be good to know whether you will get help from someone who will be your guide during the first weeks of working at the first job.

These 6 questions – 3 dos and 3 don’ts – will definitely help you during the first interview and will assist in holding a proper conversation with the employer. Of course, they won’t be enough to get a job offer, so do your best to demonstrate your confidence, huge desire to study, and readiness to invest into the company development by making effort and contributing knowledge.

6 Steps to Overcome low Self Esteem and Negative Attitude

There are a lot of different aspects of your inner character that determine your success, but the greatest of these is self-motivation.  The ability to drive yourself and never give up as you push towards your goals is one that all truly successful people possess.

With the distractions of modern day life and the fast pace we all live in, managing your motivation is challenging.  Pushing through self-doubt, apathy, exhaustion, and the countless other negative mental landmines that lay before you can cause some to quickly adopt a, “Why bother?” attitude.
How do you clear your head of all this negativity? How do you push yourself when so many elements around you are encouraging you to quit? The following 6 steps can banish the negative attitudes and assure you accomplish everything you set your mind to.

Make certain you have a Clearly Defined Goal

There is little point to being self-motivated if you have nothing to work towards.  Be sure to make the goal realistic. Be sure you have a timeline in place for achieving it. Most importantly, do not let a single day go by without reminding yourself about what it is you intend to achieve.  Keeping your goals in sight at all times is one of the greatest motivators in the world.

Break your Goal Down into Simple steps

Every time you achieve one of these steps, it will add to your motivation to get to the proverbial finish line.  This makes the goal seem more attainable and helps you to mark your progress on the road to success.  If your goal is to run a marathon, start with a 5 mile run in 45 minutes.  Once you’ve achieved that, alter the distance and time to make it harder.  As each step is accomplished you will feel more motivated for the next step.

Don’t let Arrogance make you Unrealistic.

Pride can be a good thing.  If you combine self-awareness with pride it can give you the self-esteem needed to do great things.  But if you have an overblown sense of pride it can lead to becoming easily frustrated when you don’t get what you want quickly enough.  Nothing kills motivation faster than not getting something that you feel entitled to.  Decide right now that you’re not entitled to anything and that everything you get in life is going to be the result of hard work and you will find your motivation will increase exponentially.

Live in the Moment

Yes, looking forward to a goal can motivate you, but live in the here and now.  Accept your circumstances for what they are and be determined to change them for the better.  Don’t let errors in the past or dreams for the future occupy your time.  Instead, occupy your time with actions that increase your confidence and motivation. Trying to get the promotion at work?  Don’t daydream about how great the job will be.  Do all the networking and hard work that you need to do in order to land that job.

Don’t forget to Enjoy

Morale is perhaps the most important element in self-motivation.  Staying positive can help you deal with setbacks.  It can also give you that little extra push of energy that you need to break through the mental barriers that are holding you back.    Stress and laziness are the two greatest inner obstacles to accomplishing your goals.  Keeping a positive attitude is the best way to smash through these obstacles.

Value Momentum

Once you start, becoming self-motivated is like a train hurtling down a track.  As long as your path is clear and you are determined to not stop, you will get to where you are going very quickly.  So, don’t spend three weeks working and decide to blow off the next three days.  Keep focused.  Keep working.  Keep moving forward.  Your goal is not coming to you.  You are moving towards your goal.

From Editors Desk

Self-motivation is not an easy thing to accomplish.  It requires focus, work, determination, planning and a healthy dose of realism.  But the fact that self-motivation is difficult and that many people have a short supply of it is the best reason to develop it.  Because once you’ve learned to be self-motivated, you can push yourself to accomplish anything.

Interview with Syed Faizan Ali - A Young Entrepreneur

Today, I'm very excited to Interview one of the youngest and successful bloggers of Pakistan Syed Faizan Ali. I think his name needs no introduction but let me give you short introduction about him and his personality.
Syed Faizan Ali is a young entrepreneur from Pakistan and is known for his websites MBL (mybloggerlab.com) and the only Templateism. MyBloggerLab is his first website which is now one of the best blogger resource blogs. After the success of MBL, Faizan launched his 2nd project Templateism which is the No. 1 platform for Blogger templates with thousands of monthly downloads and millions of visitors. Well, when I sent him a mail, I wasn't expecting a quick reply. As he is busy person but I received a quick response and he agreed for the interview.  So let's see, how he answered my questions:

1. Welcome to Blogolect, I think your Name is enough and no introduction is required but as a part of formality tell us a little about yourself?

First of all thanks for finding me worth to be interviewed on your wonderful blog. I am Syed Faizan Ali, a Pakistan Web Entrepreneur and currently pursuing my computer engineering bachelor degree. I have founded two of the most popular blogger niche website i.e. MyBloggerLab.com and Templateism.com

2. How you started blogging and what was the reason behind it?

I wasn’t a great student being mocked by family members that I would either be a vegetable vendor or a local clerk. However, I was really good with computers, playing games was my best hobby. I took all those bad things as a motivation and fortunately end up starting blogging which resulted very well for me.

3. How much time do you spend daily on blogging, how much you spent in the early days and how much you are spending now?

I use to spend almost 18-20 hours on blogging at initial stages. However, nowadays I am a lot busy with my university and personal life. Therefore, I didn’t give much of the time to blogs. However, I still give around 8-10 hours to internet, blogging and web developing.

4. Faizan, now you're a successful entrepreneur, tell us a a little about the sources which helped you in achieving your goals?

People help you a lot, it could be your friends who you shared your happiness with, it could also be your enemies who always keep you on your toes to achieve more.

5. Templateism :) Templateism is going viral day by day and obviously its all due to your hardwork. I want to ask you a general question that how much time it took to become a professional designer/developer and what were the sources which helped you?

I wonder why I didn’t started Templateism.com at very first. But I did, which was a great thing happened to blogger.com. You just need to learn HTML and CSS to get started with developing a blogger template.

I would tell you a secret, try editing your existing blogger template. You will find wonderful codes, learn them and utilize them in your own template. Simple, Right?

6. I hardly found a few template designers from Pakistan, what do you think what's the reason behind it? It really hurts, but I am saying this after my observance, Pakistan is far away from other countries in the field of blogging. So what do you think which steps should we take to create a sense in Pakistanis that blogging is a profitable business and is better than jobs.

You see there are a lot of Pakistani designers but the difference is that they are not good at it. They focus on too many things rather than mastering one thing. I think government should develop a proper IT Institution that teaches people not only standard education but also teaches them “To Blog”, “To Earn” and “To Develop”.

7. Which are the Primary Sources of your Income?

Our primary source of income is Ads Slot selling, Selling Templates and doing custom projects for our clients.

8. How do you prepare your speech for seminars and how much time it takes?

So Far I have came into public 2 times, my first ever seminar on blogging was at Karachi University in 2013. The next seminar that I took was at IBA CED (IBA Center of Entrepreneurship Development) in Karachi in 2014. I recently did an online webinar for Google Student Ambassadors, it went really smooth. The only reason why I am able to give such seminars and presentation is becomes of the motivation audience give me back when I speak.

9. What was the key factors behind the success of MBL?

The factor was pretty simple, “Write Quality Content” and wait for the right time to monetize. If you know I waited 6 months to place any kind of advertisement on MBL. That’s the key.

10. What are your future plans?

Future plans is to expand Templateism Network and to take it to the very next level, In Sha ALLAH.

11. Competition is increasing day by day, so what you think that starting a blog in today's date is a profitable business?

Competition is getting tough but the people are getting intelligent as well. They will certainly find a way to reach their goal. You just need to be motivated.

12.  I have seen that all newbies pay more attention to their alexa ranking than their blog? What do you think about alexa, is it still matters?

Alexa ranking doesn’t matters a lot. Yes, It is a nice way to flaunt your website ranking but it has not a lot of worth so don’t worry about it and focus on your blog and how much you earn.

13. As a Student how do you manage you blogs and how you managed then in the start of your career?

As a student still, it is really hard to manage both. You either sacrifice your education or work. However, if you are motivated and determined in your goals you will overcome this issue as well.

15. What do you think about taking risks in blogging, like paying on advertisements and all this type of stuff?

Blogging is a risk, you put your everything on a blog and if you don’t get desire result all hardwork goes in vain. However, without taking risk you cannot do anything. Overcome your FEAR, when you put water in a Cup it becomes a Cup and when you put water in a jar it becomes a jar. Be water my friend.

16. Would you like to give any message to bloggers who are just starting their career?

First of all, new bloggers really need to learn to at least give some sorts of respect to the senior bloggers. Sometime novice bloggers shows extra aggression and that literally spoils everything. They should focus more towards their blog instead of looking what others are doing. The most important thing, a new blogger should always start a blog on a topic that he feels he can cover the best. Many people have started a website on totally unrelated topics that didn’t work out. Find your abilities and make them count.

17. What do you think about Blogolect?

Zohaib, you got a really nice blog. I would just like to tell you focus on doing whatever you are doing and don’t listen to anyone. Follow your dreams and In Sha Allah You will taste success someday.

Hope you guys enjoyed it and hope it motivated you to stick to your goals. Liked it, let us know in the comments section below.

For you to be able to generate and sustain the interest of readers to your blog, you must be consistent in updating your blog content regularly. This is even more important if your goal is to make money from blogging.

Your Niche

Except you are a public figure with a large following who can blog on whatever he fancies, you blog must focus on a particular niche.

Ask yourself, what problem do I want to solve for people? Or what need do I want to meet? This will help you to stay focused and increase your relevance. Work towards becoming an authority in your chosen niche.

Write for Your Audience

Blogging is not academic writing. Understand your audience and write in an interesting and engaging manner. Your purpose is to sustain their interest and keep them coming back. You should therefore try to be as informal and straightforward as possible. One trick to this is to write like you were facing them and talking to them. Use words and phrases that would grab their attention.

Interact

The ever increasing social media space is one huge traffic source. It would be a nice idea to have a fan page on Facebook for your blog and also a Twitter account. Work on increasing your fan base on social media platforms and post regularly.

Don’t ignore comments from your readers on your blog or other platforms. Address their questions and comments as promptly as you can. Interacting and sharing with your guests will build loyalty and trust.

13 Ways to Make Your Title Catchy + a List of Power Words

Why do you have to create a catchy title and why the title is so important? Imagine yourself a fisherman. Any copywriter will tell you that if you want to hook your reader you should think about a good bait. Everything is simple – your title is your bait and your today's supper depends on it. The truth is cruel - there is no set formula for creating a catchy title because if there was then everybody would do it, right? You have to know your audience primarily, and then know what makes a catchy title before you can make one. Here are the ingredients for a catchy title and a few power words you can splice in to give it some oomph. Happy fishing!

1- Deep researchers do not like catchy

You have to match your title to your target audience. You have to make sure that the people you are trying to attract are going to find your title catchy. People that are doing deep research are going to be put off by a typically catchy title. They are going to want descriptive and accurate titles.

2- Skim researchers want catchy and want numbers

The people that are quickly searching for a bit of trivia or a quick answer to a question are going to love catchy titles. They want a title that tickles their interest and that gives an indication it may answer their question. They do not mind a title that is a little more general and a little less concise.

3- Be descriptive and let people know what to expect

The key to getting more clicks is to be more descriptive. There is a trend at the moment where people feel they have to put numbers in their titles or feel that they have to give a vague reference to a payoff in order to get clicks, but people are sick of them and are usually very unresponsive to them. If you are descriptive, then you may scare away some people, but they are the people that are not interested in your products, services, website, network or you. The people that do click are the ones that are more likely to engage with your content.

4- Stir the imagination without leading people on

Do not be vague, but do allow people to ponder on your title before they click the link to your page. You can say that a woman awoke from her coma after two years, or you can say that a woman awakes from her coma and finally becomes lucid. This stirs the imagination and makes the reader wonder what she was like before she became lucid.

5- Pick a selling point and play it in the title

Your selling point is the main use of your article or post. If you are writing a descriptive that, as you should, then playing on your selling point is a great idea. For example, if your article is a picture post on broken-glass structures, then that is what you would write within the title (to be descriptive), but you can play on your selling point by add something such as, “that you have never seen before.” Adding that selling point is honest and descriptive, whilst also plays on the selling point that your pictures haven’t been seen before.

6- Stay away from enticing but non-descriptive titles

There are hundreds of thousands (probably millions) of these all over the Internet and they are annoying. They say things such as, “This 53 year old woman has the skin of a 20yr old” or “Nobody thought this would work,” or “Even a kid can make money doing this.” It is true that young, gullible, and easy-to-impress people are going to click links with these sorts of titles, but most people will not.

7- Link it to trends

Do not misunderstand this tip. This doesn’t mean hop on the trend people have set up where they have to have odd numbers in their titles, or the trend of vague but enticing titles. It msn hop on the trends that will elevate the impact of your title when people read it. For example, the trailer to Fast & Furious 7 was all over YouTube. In the 5 seconds before the advert may be clicked off, the trailer says, “I live my life at a quarter of a mile at a time.” People that had similar (albeit funny parodies) lines in their titles did very well around this time. For example, movie reviews said, “I watched this movie a quarter of a yawn per minute.”

8- Make it rhyme if you want people to repeat it

If you want people to quote your title, then make it rhyme. For some reason, people are more willing to remember and repeat article titles that rhyme.

9- Stop listening to trends

The Internet is full of articles saying you should have a number in your title if you want people to visit your website and read your article, but the fact is that people do not care. It is one of those occasions where the market has led the metric. The consumers do not click more titles with numbers in because they like them, they click them before more have sprung up than ever before. Do not listen to trends. Only use them opportunistically whenever you think it will benefit or impress your target audience.

10- Try to excite people more than you try to scare them

Trying to scare people with dramatic lines and scary fact will just bore people. People in the USA hear such things on the news so often that they are sick of fear. They already live in perpetual fear and will therefore not seek it out. People in Canada do not lock their doors, and people on the TV talk about conversations to resolve conflicts. People in the USA hear something terrifying every time they switch on the TV or a streaming device, so they will veer away from scary posts that threaten their lives or their happiness.

11- Don’t use over-used words

There are a lot of overused words--too many to post here. Nevertheless, try your best to avoid some of the most overused words in the article and blogging world. Here are a few examples of words that are overused in article titles.

12- Don’t be afraid of being creative

The key to being creative and successful is to measure your results. Be creative by all means, but every time you are, you have to measure the results. Your creativity may open up a whole new paradigm in title creation, or it may start the next trend. The only way you are going to see a genuine benefit from experimenting and being creative is to measure your results and learn from them. Pay close attention to your analytics and measure your click-through rates.

13- Use power words if you want to make an impact

Remember that power words and phrases are only powerful for a limited amount of time and are guided by trends. For example, the term, “Coursing through my veins” used to be powerful, but is now cliché, pretentious and annoying. The same thing can happen with power words, especially if you overuse them, so pick and choose them carefully. Here is a list of currently popular power words. Click here to download the list.
